Maximizing Space with Wall Units!

Have you got stuff that has no place to go? Need to clear the clutter? Maybe empty wall space that you just don’t know how to make interesting?

Perhaps you have a weird niche that you're sure should serve a purpose, but what? How about precious knick-knacks, mementos, or novelty items you’d like to display but can’t figure out how?

Sounds like you need a custom designed wall unit.

There’s nothing like a wall unit (or two or three) tailored specifically for your needs, for your space, for your taste, and for your stuff. Wall units can change a space from drab to dramatic while providing personalized organization, functionality, and beauty.

Do you like symmetry or perhaps a more modern, sleek style? Do you prefer white, wood, black, pink, gold, textured, or something else?

There are colors and materials for every taste. Would you like drawers, shelves, doors, cubbies or just open shelves for books and toys? No problem! A custom wall unit is designed to meet your individual needs.

Have you dreamed of having a fireplace? Even that can be incorporated into your individualized unit.

There is an important process to create a successful wall unit.

First, I sit with each client and hear their wish list, discuss their style, and clarify their goals for the unit. Then, I take measurements, not only of the available space but also of the items that need to fit into the unit. This can include toys, computer printer, books, decorative items, bathroom supplies, papers, alcohol, files, and so much more.

Once I have a clear understanding of the client’s style and list of needs, I spend a chunk of time on the design program, AutoCAD, drawing various units until I have at least two designs that meet the client’s requirements and fit whatever items the unit will store.

I will also draw the units in the 3D illustrator program, SketchUp. This makes it much easier to visualize and ensures that the unit imagined actually suits the client in reality.

When the design is finalized, we choose colors and finishes.

Then, all details are carefully reviewed with a carpenter, who builds the unit in his workshop and puts it together in the client’s home.

Though customized wall units are not inexpensive, they truly transform a space and home.

Please check out my wall units “before” and “after” images to see just how well custom wall units alter a space. I have yet to see a client not thrilled that they decided to get a customized wall unit. It truly makes your house a more organized, functional, and beautiful home.
